Future Plans

Over time, the IIRA aims to collaborate on different aspects of the investor relations profession, chief of which is in lifting the quality of investor relations (IR) professionals.

Investor Relations Training

Presently, investor relations practitioners are often trained on the job. As such, the quality of training varies from one agency to another.

This inevitably limits the number of IR practitioners that could be meaningfully trained at any one time.

Adding to this challenge is finding suitably qualified new hires for an IR role.

The profession combines both communications skills and financial aptitude. Not many are equipped with this twin requirement, thereby further limiting the talent pool of IR professionals.

The IIRA is cognizant of this situation and of the acute need for a robust and well-documented training program.

The alliance, with inputs from its members, plans to put together a training system that would both upgrade and standardize training for IR professionals as well as broaden the human capital for the IR industry.

This will pave the way for s taff training to form an integral part of the service quality of any IR agency.
